Why do I expect the answer to be none?

Percy has, he says Rickey G throws his bat into the stands a lot.
It's the lack of stolen bases that is most troublesome...
Robbie had speed, power, and average...
..right now, Gutierrez gets a half rating compared to Robbie on all three of the above mentioned critera.
So Rickey G gets a 1.5 out of 3...I'd like him at a two....meaning he does at least one thing as good as Robbie, and the other two things not as good..

I've watched him on the the last year and never really paid much attention to him. I do remember him playing a pretty decent shortstop. Nothing spectacular, but he does make the play. Now at second base, who knows. I also remember him giving a few collectibles to the fans by letting go of his bat.
He was the guy kind of guy you never noticed in the lineup, but then you look at his stats, and say "this guy's not too bad."

Well DUH, RickyG is no Alomar, why even make such a stupid comment? Guitterez is simply a stop gap solution until we develop a secondbaseman. He is a solid fundamental middle infielder who will be an exceptional number two hitter with great bat control, but i forgot Alex or whatever wants a SS that hit .242 in tripple A Buffalo to start at second LMAO!

srg gets it -- Alex THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR ALOMAR....ok, there, ya happy? Guiterrez is just filling Alomar's position, but is also the type of player the new look Indians need.

But whoever you replace Alomar with MUST be rated to ascertain how much you are losing.
My point was simple, Rickey G gets half of what Robbie would get based on a scale of 1-10 criteria.
So, Robbie gets 10's for defense, speed, Power and Average...
Rickey gets 5's in each of these 3 categories. (he hasn't played second and he has less range, and his power and average do not compare, nor do his stolen bases)
That's a big drop...my point was that I could accept replacing Robbie with a 6 or a 7 across the board.
But as I have since said, as a number #2 hitter, Rickey's best complement at the plate in the three hole may have been lost because we no longer have the best number 3 hitter in the game...Robbie Alomar.

By the way Crank, the guy has only played about 15 games at second, so what's your point!

My point isn't how many people have seen him play second - my point is just how many people have actually seen him play a game? I will even take a television game as an answer - especially since thats all I have ever seen him play.

I have seen two cub games and the guy is a decent shortstop but average at best. Everybody loves his .290 average, but that was by far his career best. He's not going to scare any pitcher at the plate or on the bases, that is why his salary is a tough pill to swallow
